A share certificate is a type of savings account with a fixed interest rate and a set term—you choose how long to keep your money deposited, and in return, you earn a higher yield than a regular savings account.
Unlike other investments, your return is guaranteed and your deposit is insured through American Share Insurance and Excess Share Insurance, up to $500,000 per account.
